Je to pro mne španĕlská vesnice (yeh toh proh mnye spahn-els-kah vehs-nee-steh)
Language: Czech
Meaning: It’s a Spanish village to me
Or, in English, we’d say “It’s all Greek to me!” It’s funny how each country and culture has the same kind of phrases that refer to the strangeness of other countries and cultures, but they use different countries in their phrases. For instance, in English, there’s a bird we call “Turkey.” In Turkey that bird is called “Hindi akbabasi” or “dişi hindi” (Indian buzzard or hen – actually, in Turkey, anything that is “strange” or “funny looking” is called Indian, like a coconut is a Hindistan cevizi or Indian nut). Likewise, American’s seem to think Greek is the height of unintelligibility, while to the Czechs it’s the Spanish, to the Spanish it’s Chinese, to the Chinese it’s “like heavenly script.” Translations of some of your favorite idioms can be found here.
